Yeah. Yeah. We love you too. They threw everything but the kitchen sink at us. They spent almost $50 million.

Attacking us. No one's faced that much all the way just through Iowa. They, the media was against us. They were writing our obituary months ago. They even called the election before people even got a chance to vote.

But they were just so excited About the fact that they were predicting that we wouldn't be able to get our ticket punched here out of Iowa. But I can tell you, because of your support, in spite of all of that that they threw at us, everyone against us, we've got our ticket punched out of Iowa. All right, so we are recapping Iowa today. and everything that it means. And there is a lot to go over.

Welcome to the program. Dana Lash here with you, top of our very first hour here. And we've got a lot to unpack.

Now, of course, you can listen to the you can listen to the radio program across the country. You can check out the simulcast, the video portion. uh of the program that you can You can also check out channel 347 DirecTV. Uh and Also, you can uh watch YouTube, Facebook. all of that.

So, all right, this uh ha ha where do we start? Let's start with this.

Well, let me set the table for you. I'm going to be real clear with folks. Very clear with folks. And I've been clear on this from the be from the very beginning. I have a preference in the primary.

I want to win in 2024. I reject Anybody getting mad and nasty over primary choices. I'm not going to judge you for yours, and I reject any judgment for mine. That's how we agree to disagree, because we all have the same. We all have the same goals.

I want to win. I will literally steamroll over somebody's grandma to win 2024. I'm maybe only slightly joking. Seriously, don't mess. I want to win 2024.

We're not there yet. We're getting through the primary, and it is early in the primary.

Now, I'm going to tell you Basic facts. I don't like some of the facts that I'm going to tell you because it didn't serve my particular preference. But I'm not here to sit here and tell you what I only want to hear. I'm here to tell you the lay of the land. And some of the stuff that I'm going to tell you If you are a hard core Trump person.

I need you to take this to heart. Because there are two things you gotta pay attention to. as we roll into November. And this will affect you. And if you want your candidate to be strong.

I mean, if you want the nominee, whoever the nominee is, if it's Trump coming out of 24, you're going to need to listen to this.

So I'm going to deep dive. And it'll probably be one of the deeper dives I've done on the program. I was up pretty late last night. Because the way the system works is quite different.

Now, let me start with this. Number one. My biggest disappointment of last night wasn't that DeSantis was two. I would have been shocked, and I said this on aircane, did I not? I would have been shocked if DeSantis took first place.

That's not the goal for DeSantis. DeSantis is not going to take first place. First off, Iowa is a hardcore red voter. That's a hardcore red voter primary.

Now That means That's all, it's also different. I want to say this too, the makeup of other Iowa voter. And every state is different. But Iowa is more. Meat and potatoes than others.

Does that make sense? I'm not talking about rule. I'm just they're they're more hardcore red than others.

Now, what does this mean? This means that you get into more ideology than you, or you get into more personality than you do issues. That's a true thing. But Let's start here. It's early.

This is the first caucus.

Now, his goal was to only ever come in second, and now he needs to finish destroying Haley. Ron DeSientis had to come in second tonight to go forward, or last night to go forward. I said that to you too. The goal was only ever to come in second and knock Trump down to 50 or lower. And people are talking about the ROI, the return on investment.

Let me tell you guys something. The ROI, without what he did, he wouldn't have gotten where he was. This also has to do with branding in the Republican Party, which we're going to talk about coming up.

Now let me explain how Iowa works. Because I had a lot of people telling me, but Dana. You know, it was a landslide. It was a landslide. That does not matter in a caucus where delegates are awarded.

proportionally. I'm going to explain here in a second. This is also to dovetail in the reason why I was absolutely ticked off. And you should be too. Whether you're for Trump or DeSantis.

that the media called it thirty-one minutes into voting. The primary process is different. You sit here, you go, you go to the polls, you get your ballot, here's I'm checking out, and then I'm leaving.

So you're used to that. In caucus states. It is an event. They showed up at seven o'clock. It's a whole event you will have, and I've covered caucuses before.

Sometimes they last for hours. When I was the token conservative and everyone hated me at CNN, I literally was on set till 2 a.m. because not everything was done. I'm not even joking. Not everything was counted because everything ran to the latest it could run.

So I've been there when it's run late and I've been there when it hasn't. but they start at seven. When people go in to vote, They are registered Republicans, and you can register the same day. That's going to come in here in a moment. They register same day.

And so they can They can Go in, they register, they check the registration, and they all file into their different caucus sites. Then you have campaign surrogates make the case. People write their name on a piece of paper and they literally put it like in a bucket. I love, there's something wholesome about it that I love. I mean, one of my favorite things is watching Montana, watching Islands.

Go up and they're wearing their Sunday best. They show up in the cold and they're out there making the case. I mean, that's literally the process. democratic process in our republic at its finest. There's something about it I adore.

So, when the media called it last night 31 minutes. There were thousands of people that had not even been processed in to the caucus site to go vote. That is not an exaggeration, that's a statement of fact.

Now this matters when you have delegates awarded proportionally. Because let me put it to you one of two ways: whether you're a Trump supporter or a DeSantis supporter, this is why this matters. If you're a DeSantis supporter and you think it's close, and you hear that the race has already been called, you may give up and bail out a line. And I'm sure people did. If you're a Trump supporter and you want your guy to win by a historic margin and you want him to get more delegates, And you hear the media calls it because people have their smartphones, you're going to bail out a line, you're going to rob your guy of a historic victory, and all the delegates.

Do you see how this goes both ways? This is why you should be ticked off no matter whom you support. Because this was absolutely the media trying to influence, and conservative networks are not exempted from this.

So that's number one. People were absolutely vote. Voting had just started. People were late getting into caucus sites. There was a line around one such site in Dubuque that was almost two miles long.

That is God's fact.

So yes, you should be mad about that. If you were mad about Arizona in twenty twenty, which I also was too, Then you should be consistent and be mad over this because if they're just trying to see if you're soft and it'll accept it again. That being said. Let's look at the proportional awarding of delegates because this is where it gets different. And I was explaining this to some folks last night who I don't think.

Quite, I mean, if you're not in a caucus state, you may not be entirely familiar with how it works. People show up. It doesn't, it's not a winner-take-all state, meaning if you win, you get all the delegates. They are awarded proportionately, proportionate to how much you have won. Which is why Trump only took 20.

DeSantis took eight.

So That There's m there's several other states where that rings true. Not every state is winner-take-all.

So when the margins matter.

So that's the other reason why it was absolute BS. For that to be called 31 minutes into voting. And again, if you were mad in Arizona, this is not about Trump or DeSantis. Not at all. I don't care about either one of them in this argument right now.

This is about the media trying to influence you. They're trying to gaslight you. They're trying to bin you over a barrel. They don't care. Conservative media does not care about you.

Legacy Press doesn't care about you. They only care about you insofar as they can use you for clicks. Never forget that.

Now Moving on from that.

So this was, again, proportionately. Delegated. the delegates were awarded, and that's why margins matter.

Now let's look at the turnout. You have 752,200 registered Republicans in the state of Iowa. You had a pretty almost record turnout in 16, 187,000. thousand turnout.

Now that's pretty significant.

Now, I realized, and I said this yesterday: yes, there was. There's, I get it. There's, there was snow. But Iowans are used to snow and they're used to cold. They voted colder.

But this turnout was a little lower than in 2016 by quite a bit, decreasing from 186,657 to 115,000. That's significant. Because you had Maybe 20% of the state's registered Republicans who took part. in the caucus.

Now, I'm going to get into good and bad for DeSantis and good and bad for Trump because I want you to have a full array of facts no matter who you support.

Okay. I don't like all of them, cause it doesn't necessarily tickle my fancy for my particular preference. But again, that's not the point. You will not find this kind of honest breakdown anywhere else.

Nowhere else. None of the big talkers are going to give it to you. None of the people on cable news are going to give it to you. But I'm going to give it to you because I don't care about any make keeping contacts with any of these people. Yeah.

And because I can't believe that We just can't speak plainly about this.

So, coming up, this is what we're going to talk about. We're going to talk about. the breakdown in voting. How immigration leapfrogged over the economy. We're going to talk about what this means for New Hampshire and South Carolina.

There are two paths for DeSantis, and there's a major problem coming up for Trump. That the number is already in these surveys. The n the the pattern is already present. that we got to talk about.

So no matter who you like. You're going to want to stay tuned because you're going to want to know this stuff for your guy. And Haley was wrong. It is not a two-person race between her and Trump. That does not mean she's done.

I don't like saying that. It does not mean she's done. And I'm going to explain. All of that and more. You don't want to miss any, any second of the program.

I told you, it's the deepest dive I've ever done on this program. But I believe that this election is the last one. Really? And I think you need to be aware of all this stuff. You know, when you search for something on Netflix, what you get is only a fraction of what Netflix actually has.

Netflix actually has more than something like 18,000 titles globally, but only 6,000 of those are available in the United States.

So you're missing out on literally thousands of movies or television shows, anything episodic, unless you use ExpressVPN. ExpressVPN is an app that lets you change your online location so you can control where you want Netflix to think that you're located. They have over 100 different locations, so you can gain access to thousands of new programs no matter where you live.

Now, this works with a lot of other streaming services too, like Max, BBC, iPlayer, Hulu, things like that.

So this is something that you should definitely consider. I mean, think about what you would like to watch that maybe you can't access. I mean, there's some British shows that I would like to watch. There's, you know, some anime, there's some movies, all kinds of stuff. And also, I want to kind of hide where I am too, just because I'm always internally suspicious.

So, this is what Express VPN can come and clutch for. Also, it's super fast. I can stream everything in HD with no. Buffering works on any device. I can enjoy whatever I'm watching from my phone, laptop, tablet, TV, you name it.

It just works. And ExpressVPN protects your privacy and security to keep you safe from hackers that want to take your info and sell it on the dark web.

So stop missing out on great programming and get thousands of new shows with ExpressVPN. And we got them to give you guys an extra three months free when you use our special link, expressvpn.com/slash dana. That's exp r e s s v pn.com slash dana to get three extra months completely free. And now, all of the news you would probably miss, it's time for Dana's Quick Five.

So, one in five hospital deaths in the United States are the result of doctor errors. That's crazy. It's like my grandpa's like... From the gravy's going, I told you. Researchers say that medical blunders are an urgent public health problem.

One in five hospital deaths. That is crazy. And you know, it's very, very difficult to litigate those things. Deadly Arctic blast has brought travel chaos over. This is insane.

Over 7,000 flights are canceled or delayed. Cars are stranded. 150 million people face a wind chill. Warning. They go.

We have wind chilled warnings. This is that's wild. I mean, there's still ice. Ice. Ice on the ground.

in Texas. 18 degrees. That's why I'm it's turtleneck city for Dana until uh You know, we got like decent actual Texas weather back because this is nuts. I don't like this. Uh, 10 vehicles were buried in a snowslide.

In Colorado alone, this was wild. Oh, that's terrifying. When you drive through like mountain passes and there's just gigantic mounds of snow piled up on either side of you, oh man, that's kind of freaky, you know? But they said it's the Berthood Pass that's gonna remain closed because avalanche danger. 10 vehicles were caught in a snowslide.

That has to be scary. Americans can no longer afford their cars. Thanks, Bidenomics. Car ownership has always been kind of like a trademark of the American get-up-and-go lifestyle. And so now, I mean, they've been viewed as what?

Freedom, independence, and rebellion. Sidebar, I have a deep, I have a psychological deep dive on this work because the younger generations don't prize cars as much. And I think it has to do with chipping away at this American ideal. Just saying. Anyway, they said that the automobile has reached a crucial point because people cannot afford their cars anymore, which goes into you will own nothing and be happy, right?

And eat bugs. They said new annies car prices rose to record highs during the pandemic. And so, I mean, yeah, you had chip shortages and supply chain disruptions, et cetera. But. New car prices have risen by 30%.

According to Copilot and Newsweek. And they said that when inflation slowed to the point that the feds decided to stop hiking rates, new car prices rose by 1% to an average of $50,000. Used car prices fell only 2%, average is $31,000. That's insane. That is crazy.

All right, so a study revealed that a potential hot spring could be the birthplace of early life.

So it's people's soup. There you go. Miss Colorado made history because she became the first U.S. serving U.S.

soldier ever to be crowned Miss America. She's training to be Top Gun. which is actually super cool. She won it over the weekend, 22-year-old Madison Marsh. And she's a United States Air Force pilot.

She was crowned Miss America on Sunday. That's pretty cool. I just, I didn't, I don't watch it. I didn't watch it. Her dress is like pretty awesome.

Please tell me that her talent was flying a jet. Because I would be like, all you broads, go home. She wins. Everybody, off the situation. She wins.

She just flew a jet. That's her talent. All right.

And I'm also making the decision that this Has to be. and America first candidate in that White House. As I've said since the beginning, there are two America First candidates in this race.

And earlier tonight I called Donald Trump to tell him that I Congratulate him on his victory. And now, going forward, he will have my full endorsement for the presidency. And I think we're going to do the right thing for this president. I said last night, and I meant it, the stalking horse made an obvious endorsement. I mean, that's not a shocking thing.

Welcome back to the program, Dana Lash here with you. Oh, for and I, and I'm not going to hear the weeping and gnashing of teeth from anybody who's like, You talked tough during the primary. I think he can handle it. It's fine. A couple people need to calm down.

We'll go back to the program, Dana Lash, with you. Bottom of this first hour. But it is true. I mean, don't sit here and, I mean, I'm not going to sit here and act otherwise. It's, I mean, that's not shocking.

Good heavens. There were people who got madder at me because I said stalking horse makes obvious endorsement than they were from Trump s banning him from the MAGAverse for forever and saying he's not MAGA. Stop. We're not playing this game. I'm not doing it.

I just think I I mean, if i the original insult was thinking that voters were too dumb to know this in the first place. That was the original insult. He didn't perform well. And I, you know, and nothing against him personally. I mean, clearly, he's made some good decisions in his life because he's been successful in business.

But that's one thing. To be successful in business is one thing. To be successful in policy with this is something else entirely different. And I mean, he's, you know, maybe he can get in the trenches and fight a little bit before, you know, he tries, as Thomas Massey said, he tries to be the general of a movement that he actually hasn't been a part of until very recently and literally was donating to Democrats. And you can see that on my sub stock because I have posted receipts.

So that being said, I want to get back to a couple of other things. Haley. Last night, I think that she wasn't, she didn't DeSantis overperformed ever so slightly. Trump underperformed. Nikki Haley was kind of flat.

And that kind of goes along with, it was just, it was almost right with the polling. And this is going to get into something else we're going to talk about here coming up with polling. But one of the things that I noticed with her, and if you I was I was updating live over at Substack, is that she pulled a lot from the left. And remember, I always got same day registration. I have a sneaking suspicion that there were a lot of Democrats who actually registered and voted for her.

I mean, in fact, I'm not a betting person. I don't gamble, but I totally would gamble on this. Absolutely. I'd I'd put a stack down on that. They absolutely did.

She pulled from some of the leftiest. They didn't do exits there, but they do entrance, entrance polls. And a lot of the people that were voted, she got a lot of collegiates. She just got a lot of people that identified that self-ID'd as like being lefty, that were very, that were very moderate and away from a lot of traditional Republican positions. And she still, I mean, technically she was just like barely like a point under, but so I don't want to say that she underperformed.

I think, you know, with it's within the margin of error.

So I think she was pretty neutral. But I do think that that You can interpret this one or two ways. She pulled a lot of people on the left. I don't think that she is pulling the so-called not Trump vote. I really don't.

Because that is a, I think, a false generalization of people who don't think that Trump is conservative enough. And that is a true thing. I mean, you have to realize there were a lot of people that were really upset over immigration. Back in 2018, Trump was pushing Bob Goodlatt's bill, which was an amnesty bill. Trump was arguing to give amnesty to to a hell of a lot of illegal immigrants.

That was a part of Bob Goodlot's bill. He faced off against a lot of the other Republicans in Congress over that. That's God's honest truth. Strike me with lightning if it's not, because that's exactly what happened. You can be mad at it, all be mad at me for mentioning it, but he was pushing amnesty in 2018.

He lost a lot of people who were, that was their wedge issue. And I remember in 2016 and even in 2018, immigration was the top issue in 2016. It even beat the economy, and it was again going into 2018. And 2018, that really hurt down ticket races. It really hurt Republicans in the midterm because of that.

I think people forget a lot about that association. It really hurt.

So Keep that in mind because immigration was one of the top issues going into Iowa. For turnout.

Now, the reason I bring up the Haley aspect of it is because she's not getting those conservative voters. She's pulling from the left. She's not pulled enough from the right demographics to be able to successfully say that she is the alternative. And I'm like, alternative to what though? I mean, I think that, like, what is the alternative?

I will say the one thing about Trump that he's, that he, I think, would have had a better reaction in Iowa, and I'm going to talk about that here next. Is I What is he for? Because all of his speeches have been about legal problems and opponents. In 2016, he was about issues and that worked for him. He's not hitting that near as hard.

And you know that's true. I think that his people need to kind of retune some of that.

Now let me get into Some of this other stuff that I just mentioned.

So. The voting in Iowa, I I And I mean, he won. I mean, he and we all we expected that was going to happen. And the goal was that DeSantis, if he was going to last, he had to come in second, which he did, and he had to take out Haley. He's got to take out Haley more now.

He's got to destroy her. You have 752,200 registered Republicans. There was in 2016 187,000 people that turned out. Trump did not win the Iowa caucus in 2016.

Now, if you go back, this is why winning doesn't necessarily mean you win the caucus doesn't necessarily mean anything. That's why it's like, well, even if DeSantis were to win it, so Cruz won it in 2016. I mean, you've had some, Mike Huckabee has won this thing before. Do you have a President Huckabee or a President Cruz? No.

So I mean, I think you kind of also need to keep it in a little bit in mind. Everyone wants to be a prognosticator. They all want to be they all want to look at this like, okay, let's see what we can what we can deduce from this. But that doesn't necessarily mean that You know, they're going to go on. I mean, it's kind of like 50-50.

who wins Iola and goes forward. Uh So keep, you know, got to keep all this stuff in mind. I think Dole, the last big record that they had was in 88 when Dole was almost plus 13 with that.

Now The turnout this time was lower. A hundred and fifteen thousand people.

So you're at about 20%. of the registered Republicans that turned out, and Trump won. Just half of those. Just keep that in mind.

Now some say And you could And I get people put the weather up, but this is Iowa. They are used to snow and cold, folks. I mean, I'm not going to plant a die on this hill of arguing whether or not. It is a measure of enthusiasm or engagement within the Republican base. I have some friends who are in analysis that say it absolutely is.

I'm not as hardcore as they are on it. I don't know. I think we need to see a couple of other things. They say that there's a waning appeal of the party. You have more independence, though.

More people are leaving the Democrat Party, but they're registering as independents. They're not registering as Republicans. But it was the lowest turnout since 2000, and you have had big snowstorms since then where you've had turnouts that have been higher.

So I like I said, I'm putting that on the table, but that's not one of the things I'm like, well, look at this. I don't know if I want to say that that's a reliable enough measure yet. The Republicans in Iowa, and here's something else to note: they were more inclined towards candidates. that they thought Would champion values. They were not concerned with national electability.

Now, I'm going to get into the problem that DeSantis is going to face and he's going to have. Let's talk about the one that Trump has and is going to face right now.

So the Primary voter voting is not the general. which you know this, but I'm saying it for a very specific reason. When Iowan Republicans, particularly in entrance polls, when they were going into this, they were looking at values and who championed specific issues, they were not prioritizing national electability. Broad appeal. is absolutely crucial.

Tantamount. in national elections. Primary less so. You need to keep that in mind. Because that's exactly what happened.

In twenty eighteen, Now set aside a lot of the discussion about fraud in certain states, etc. The states that allowed split-ticket voting, those are the states that Trump struggled in. I went back and I was looking at all of this data.

Now, this is why I say I also don't know if that's going to improve even with a DeSantis on the ticket because the Republicans, what the hell are they doing? Seriously, what is RNC leadership doing? That is going to be that and mail and ballots are going to be the biggest threat to any kind of Republican victory and they have zero plans, folks.

So there was a a waning of appeal. And I'm saying this not to slam a candidate. I'm telling you, if you want to fix it and you want your candidate, because I like to have a plan A and a plan B going into a general election. I don't know about you. I want to win.

Like I said, I will steamroll your grandmother if it means winning in 2024. I don't care. I'm not going to apologize for it. I want an A and a B. Right?

Because I think this is the last the exit off the highway. If you want your candidate to be strong, he's got to work on his broader appeal. It hurt in 2018, it hurt in 2020, and it hurt in 2022. He lost more than he won with a lot of endorsements, and a lot of the endorsements were last-minute. Get mad at me if you want, but I'm telling you this because if you want the facts and you want a real friend who cares about winning to tell you this, then you're going to take it at that meaning.

A lot of the people that he endorsed, some of them were last-minute endorsements after they were already going to clinch. But the ones that weren't they lost, and they lost in dramatic fashion. Blake Masters. Carrie Lake, Dr. Oz, I could go on.

There were a lot. They weren't necessarily the best candidates, and the state parties had to help. You have state Republican parties that are bankrupt right now. The Republican Party state by state is broke as hell. I have a whole story on that that we're going to get to coming up later on in the show.

Trump's Folks have got to work on his broader appeal. And I'm going to tell you something, you don't do that by hiring campaign bots to overtake Twitter and Facebook and Instagram and call people who didn't support your guy and are primary traders. You don't do that by being nasty with people who think like you and are your allies, but because they have a different position in the primary, you want to name call 'em and be nasty to 'em. You either want to win in 2024 and you don't. And by God, let me tell you something.

You're going to need every one of those damn votes if you want to do it, and that's your guy. That has to happen and you're not going to do it like that. If you want people to unify... then you have to be Unity. But don't expect people to come around when you're throwing vinegar at them.

And this goes to everybody. I I don't have time for the petty ego fallation. I don't. This is the last exit off the highway. And we're going to sit here and play around with owns on social media.

It's one of the most beta things I've ever seen in my life.

Some people need to go to the doctor and get their testosterone shots because the deficit's showing on social media.

Some of the chicks need to go get some progesterone because the deficit's showing on social media. Everybody. Take a giant ass collective breath and chill. Because there's a lot going on here. Everybody's got to work on tone.

The left does it. The only time you see them not doing it is with RFK's people, but even then. It's a little more nuanced. And I've been watching it. You know what They do it under the table and subtly.

And why do they do it like that? Because they don't want to run off. any of his potential voters if they can lure him over. Everybody's got to be smart like that, no matter who your guy is.

Now my point in telling you this about Trump is His problem? is broader appeal. He barely won in 2016. It wasn't a landslide, guys. I'm not being ignorant, I'm telling you this.

Because do you want to win or not? You got to fix your problems. If you don't want to be Sun Tzu and you don't want to win and you just want to have a cult of personality and get mad at the people who are telling you stuff, even if they're trying to help because they may have a different primary choice, that's your, I'm not going to tell you what to believe. But I do have a, I don't know, an 18-year record of being straightforward with you.

Now with this, he's got to work on broader appeal. And he should be straight focused on issues. I don't care if he's in a courtroom today, and I'm going to tell you most voters don't care right now because this is going to become less about his legal problems and more about people's bills as we get closer to November. People want a fighter if they don't want to feel like they're bailing somebody out. That's just being honest.

He's got to focus on serving voters instead of the other way around. That will help broader appeal. DeSantis Needs to step up. He's got to be way more aggressive. Because dodging is not the way to do it.

He needs to utterly destroy Haley, and he needs to take Trump on. And being nice and all that anymore.

Now, time is of the essence.

Now, I think that his campaign, he's had people involved with his campaign, they're all amazing, super smart people. But some of the people are a little bit more cautious than others, and the ones who are a little bit more cautious, they need to step aside. Mickey Haley has the exact opposite problem with Trump. With the independence and that. She is a deficit with the bass.

She plays better with the Independents. She may try to parlay that into momentum coming up. She's not out yet. And we're going to talk about some of that coming up.

Now, we're also going to get into New Hampshire and South Carolina. Because here's the other thing, this is a delegate race, I've said it over and over again. It is about who survives. Biden. Didn't win anything until he was getting to South Carolina, and Clyburn stepped in and saved him.

It's about survival and who can go the longest. Keep that in mind. We got a lot to get into. including these legal challenges and how that's going to affect as well. Because it's weird.

With the independence, it matters. But with the hardcore bass, it didn't, which is not surprising.

So, we're going to get into all of that. We got a lot still on the way as we move. People who help bring you free radio, it's our friends over at Black Rifle Coffee. Everything else is commie swill. There's a lot of pretenders out there.

with a sense of joy about being a part of a community. No we need that Yeah. I don't even know what she said there. She has this amazing power. Do you know what it is?

Do you know what her power is? Her power makes you, whenever she speaks, it makes you feel like you're drunk when you try to understand what she's saying. This was a completely separate event from the insane soundbite that we played yesterday, that was from a whole other event. This is like just Every day. Does she make sense at home?

Every day this is like this. It's just wild. All right, so coming up, we have a couple of other things. We got all the latest with Iowa. Also, While we were all watching The caucuses yesterday.

Two moves are being made. New Mexico Governor is going after semi-automatic firearms. And so is Washington State. Hmm. They're gearing up state by state, and I promise you.

Tonight Iowa made this Republican primary a two-person race. I came in third. She's like the female Ralph from The Simpsons in the primary. Welcome back to the program. Top of the second hour.

Dana Lash here with you. Ooh. Good to be with you. All right, so we've been offering analysis, all this good stuff. Getting into everything.

I want people, and I'm going to tell you this to someone who has had this befallen her. Yeah. Because I want to win in 2024. I need people to stop acting. And this is like Trump people, DeSantis people.

Well, I can't say Vivek people anymore. And heaven knows you can't be saying no Haley people. I need people to stop being like, oh, I got an own on you in a primary. Dude, shut up. We're literally all going for winning in 2024.

You are just acting like an ass. Stop. Stop. You're acting like someone who needs to be bullied on the playground when you do that. Stop it.

All right.

Now Here's the other thing. Nobody is the bouncer of the conservative movement. Quit it. Alia. I'm about to take off my flip-flop and collectively start thwacking.

I'm done. All right, now that being said, can she do math? Does she think she's one of the does she think that she's one of the Two, 'cause I'm She's third.

Now remember what she said was her quote. Uh She said Uh New Hampshire. will correct what Iowa did. Right.

Now Let me just give you a wait. You need to go back and listen to the first hour of the show if you're just joining. Because I break it down. It's very much math. All math and straightforward fact.

Don't care who you want. I we we or laying it all out on the line, as I always have done. But this is about a survival race. Iowa's wins are proportionately allocated.

So that's why, really quick to recap, that's why I said I thought it was, it was network competition. I know why they did it, but I think it was also an attempt at influence. I don't like media calling because it's 31 minutes into the caucusing is not like primarying. There were still people whose registrations were being processed as they were in line to go inside to vote.

Some of the caucus sites, they didn't actually close their doors until a little bit later because there were lines outside because it was so many people were waiting to get in.

So these are all facts that had, that, that come into play. It works. It actually can affect everyone negatively. I mean, what happens if Vivek Ramaswamy would have been able to actually stay in and perform a little bit better than 7%, right? What happens if Donald Trump would have had a more historic win and would have gotten more delegates?

But, you know, after they called it after 31 minutes, people said, oh, let's just go home then. And the same with DeSantis. I mean, you have to think about this from all angles and not just in the one that best benefits you.

So it Was stupid that they called it that early because people still hadn't even voted. The voting hadn't even started for in some areas. You have people, they show up at the caucus sites. Everyone goes in, they have their surrogates, you know, stump for this particular candidate, and then people write their names on paper or write the names of who they want on paper and vote. And there's something that I said that I just love that's so pure about that.

But that's how it works, and that's why it was dumb that they had called it. Just like you got mad when it was called like that in Arizona in 2020, and that wasn't even a proportional allocation, so should you be consistent and do the same thing here.

Now, that said, this is about a delegate race because these are proportionally allocated. It doesn't matter if you think it was it, you can say landslide doesn't matter, whatever floats your boat. It's still a delegate race. You still have to get to the magic number of 1,215 delegates in order to clinch the nomination. Trump has 20, DeSantis has eight.

I forget what third place has. I think she's got like six or seven. You got to get to 1215, right? That's the magic number that you got to get to. There's still a long way to go.

This is very early. We're not. We don't say, as Steve reminded me, we don't say mayor secretary. We don't say President Poot Booty Juice. Poot Booty Juice won the primary in Iowa.

We don't say President Booty Juice, do we? We don't say President Cruz, do we? We've never had a President Huckabee, have we? No, we haven't.

So it doesn't necessarily mean that that's going to be, that's an indication or a direct, you know, you won Iowa, so you get to pass, you know, go pass, go, get your 200, whatever. You win all the blue spaces on the monopoly board. That's not how this works. It is a numbers game. It is a delegate game.

And it is who can last the longest. That is exactly how this is played. And if you don't believe me, don't forget that Joe Biden was literally a heartbeat away from losing the primary when James Clyburn stepped in at the last early primary and saved him in South Carolina.

So, that's fact.

Now. Here's a thing that I want people to keep in mind. Trump and DeSantis people. Mm-hmm. There are several ways that this could look at.

There's three different ways that this could go. Because in New Hampshire, Haley's performing well in New Hampshire because that. Every state's different.

Now remember, these are the most hardcore Republican voters of this state. And a Republican voter in New Hampshire is very different from a Republican voter in Texas. And a Republican voter in Iowa is very different from a Republican voter in California.

So keeping that in mind. Haley, I think Haley may overperform in New Hampshire. She was kind of static in Iowa. DeSantis slightly overperformed. Trump underperformed.

They said that he was going to get half of all of the votes and that he was going to end up winning, you know, the majority, like more delegates than he got. And he didn't necessarily. That's not to rain down on his win. You just got to revise what your polling estimates are. And here's the other thing: if you think the polling estimates are right now, then you got to believe those exact same polls that are for telling doom in November.

Same surveys. We're going to talk about that this week. I know. That's one I don't want to really talk about because it's Uh South Carolina Haley is too close to DeSantis. They're about nine apart.

in South Carolina. That's kinda weird 'cause that's her state. See what I'm saying? New Hampshire, she's actually, it's so weird because she's performing better. in New Hampshire than she is in her own state.

Right now in polls. Yeah. It's the weirdest thing, dude. But I also understand that a lot of the big influencers in South Carolina have not backed her. Hm, telling.

She pulled a lot of lefties. In this, in Iowa. That's one thing absolutely you can say, and looking at all the entrance polling.

Now, here's why I bring all this up. I told you there are three ways going forward on this. First way. You know, you could, I mean, you could have Trump that ends up lasting and taking all the delegates. That absolutely, right now, statistically, that looks like it's in his favor.

You could have, it's less statistically likely, but it depends on momentum and how well he plays the game. You could have DeSantis that outperforms and ends up getting a lot of momentum. It just all depends. But I think also there's this third option that y'all need to be wary of. And I say wary of because I feel like a lot of you out there are not fans of Nikki Haley.

I don't dislike her personally. As a as a potential president, you bet your butt I don't like her as pres as president. No.

Trump is in court right now. The legal problems are going to grow. It's going to get worse. The Republicans don't have a plan if he ends up being the nominee and yet then he's, you know, charged or whatever. They don't have any kind of plan for that.

And then if DeSantis ends up not lasting. and ends up burning out. Do you know who that leaves a path for?

Somebody that has more only because they can attract the left broader appeal than Trump? I hate saying this. I almost I'd rather vomit than say it. It's Haley. That could leave a path open for her.

There's your third option.

So This is what I'm telling you. This is a marathon. It is not a sprint. If you thought this is going to be a one and done in Iowa, you are mistaken. It's never been like that.

And you need to be aware of everything. This is when Not only the DeSantis camp, but the Trump camp has to be smart. Unless he wants her as a VP, they got to be smart. Because she will absolutely try to out she'll and she's competitive with Trump in New Hampshire. She is.

I don't like saying it. She's besting DeSantis right now in New Hampshire. He's heading to South Carolina. I'm telling you, it could leave a path open. She pulled from a lot of Democrats.

In Iowa, a lot of people that were left leaning. And she does nationally as well. She has the exact opposite problem that Trump has. Trump performs well with the bass, underperforms horrifically. nationally, particularly with independents.

In 2016, he barely ran, and those were people who were given a test vote. They were hate voting against Hillary.

Now And he can be divisive. I'm just telling you things you know, so don't act like you don't. Haley? Actually, she appeals to the left. She does not appeal to the not Trump.

people on the right because they're way more conservative than she is. She appeals to like the lefties and the moderates and the people like David French who are okay with the trans stuff. That's who she appeals to. The Neocons. She appeals to the old school bushies.

She appeals to the most hardcore establishment. Although I do think the establishment, you can't tell me Lindsey Graham is not an establishment, he's with Trump. You can't tell me that.

So keep that in mind. She could I Notice how she hasn't really said anything about his legal stuff. Do you think that's by design? She's just letting it float. DeSantis has come out and said it's a witch hunt and all this.

Has Haley? Nope. I haven't heard Kane, and we get audio of everything everyone says. We watch audio more than anybody. You haven't heard anything like that, have you?

No ma'am.

Now you tell me, ignoring and letting him kinda simmer in that legal drama. as the heat turns up. Kinda allows her to sidestep that and not maneuver him, doesn't it?

Now you see. There's your dangerous third option. Right as Everything with Iran is intensifying. I think Lindsey Graham would Crap his pants if she ended up. I don't know if anybody would be happier than Lindsey Graham.

Bom bomb bomb bomb bomber in. Telling you. And so This is Telling you. There's a lot of stuff you got to think about with this. A lot.

Now the other thing. When you look, I mean, getting half, one half of less than 20% of the registered Republicans, it is a win, but you also need to realize that's the hardcore base. I still, because I have people trying to argue with me, Dana, you know, it was both sides. They're trying to say it was the lowest turnout ever or the snow. I don't, I'm not, like I said last time, I'm not dying on that hill.

as a way to like say definitively that that's a measure, yet I'm not.

Now, Haley said that she's not going to do any debates unless Trump is there. I think DeSantis ought to say the same thing. But it's funny because she goes I'm not going to do any debates unless it's Biden or Trump You haven't won enough to be able to elevate yourself over the person who actually came in second place.

So chill back, Bamaron. Chill back a little bit. You haven't you haven't done. This is about survival again. Remember, Biden came in fourth in Iowa.

Here's the other thing real quick, one last point, then I want to get to some I want to talk about the RNC role briefly, and then we got to talk about Grisham at New in New Mexico, mo like really aggressively moving on 2A. Here's the thing. with calling it early as I mentioned last hour. Because it started they called it thirty one minutes in. Rightist people had not even voted yet because caucuses are not like primaries.

You can accept it. And the problem why, the reason why I have a problem with the folks who are like, oh, it's not a big deal, is because this is after years of media. Bias, rigging, media overreach, talking about democracy, talking about all this other stuff. The ethics cannot be unimportant because you think the results are predetermined. I hope that makes sense.

It has to be consistent.

Now There's some other things to think about, too. Because The election. And what the party's running on. The RNC has got to get messaging together. What is the RNC, what is the message of Republicans going into?

November. I mean, we know what it is from Democrats. Democrats want to make it about, oh my gosh, they hate everything and they're racist and bigots and all this other stuff. I mean, think about it though. What?

What are Republicans running on? In 2016, it was issues. We had huge discussions about immigration. We had huge discussions about foreign policy. We talked about the economy.

Tax cuts were not made permanent, and I was really mad. We had all these discussions. And this was something that resonated around the world because we saw it resulting with Brexit and everything else. But now Where not? We're not seeing that anymore.

We're seeing, like, what? Like, seriously, what are we seeing? What is their message? It's either Legal issues, or we really don't know. Ronna Romney McDaniels.

Like financial, whatever. The fighting in the house. Yeah, impeachment or what is it? There's I've never seen anything more neutered. Then the message of the Republicans now: issue neutered.

What is it? You cannot just turn this into a popularity contest between two aging boomers. What are the issues? They did it in 2016.

Now it's like they forgot how to do it. There's nothing about issues coming from the RNC right now. All the national discussions, rallies, and everything else are all about what? 2020 or legal issues. They have got to fix this.

And you can't wait until you think the primary is over either. It goes with all the candidates. We got to really get moving. Partners that help bring you free radio. It's our friends over at Nimi Skincare.

So, a couple of things we're going to talk about here coming up. DOJ DHS just doubled down versus Texas. This morning they filed a second memorandum regarding the state's takeover of that city-owned riverfront property, Shelby Park.

So, it's escalating and getting legaler. A Utah firefighter plunged into a partially ice-covered pond to save a dog in Steel Pond, Clearfield, Utah. The dog was named Bob. He fell through the ice. The heroic firefighter jumped in and saved him because all dogs are good boys.

And you know, that dog was too. I would have done the same thing. I had a story about a lady who fought a coyote to save her dog. And I was like, I'd have done that. Totally done that.

Yeah, absolutely. Also, The uh oh here it is. Yeah, it was a South Carolina man. Who saved it? Wrestled.

A coyote, Timothy Snipe. He got nine raby shots after a coyote bit his leg, but he saved his dog, which is awesome. We'd have done the same thing, right? Yeah, totally. Stay with us.

Elevate your commute, workouts or downtime with the Dana Show Podcast. Unleash the power of knowledge at your fingertips by following Dana on Apple, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts. Yeah, exactly. But here's where we're at. We're at a situation where New York City is closing a school for kids, putting them at home, saying learn at home so that they can commandeer the school to house illegal aliens.

And it's like, wait a minute, we got to put the American people first.

So I think what we've done, and I support a wall and all that, but you have to take away the incentives to come illegally. And right now, you can pay a coyote thousands of dollars, get to the border, and instead of them repelling you, they'll give you a sheet of paper, say, yeah, you get a court date in three or four years. That is not a deterrent. Yeah. No, it's not a deterrent.

Do you honestly believe that people are going to? They're they're gonna Show up in three to four years. No, no, they're not. It's not gonna happen at all. Welcome back to the program.

Daniel Lash here with you, bottom of the second hour. And That's a big issue. Immigration's a big issue. Of course the Republican party was We'll talk about AOC in twenty eighteen later. But This goes on the heels of This new doubling down from the DOJ and DHS.

So the a second memorandum. Regarding the state's takeover of that Shelby Park. And you remember, we talked about this. That's right there on the Rio. This is the left.

The administration and the press have all been working together to try to pummel Whether it's the Texas governor, because he was on our show and he was talking about exactly what they were allowed to do up to the limit of the law. And they were trying to butcher and misrepresent his remarks. They were trying to, they accused Border Patrol of ignoring a drowning woman and children in the Rio. And then Border Patrol and even other members of the press were like, what are you talking about? That was on the Mexican side, that the Mexican authorities were dealing with something in the water, and Border Patrol never saw anything.

What do y'all? I mean, they made it up.

So now they said They filed this memorandum, and then they cited again the drowning of those three illegal aliens. They said that Mexican officials advised a border patrol of two migrants in distress. And they said that they informed Border Patrol that one of the migrants, a woman and two children, had drowned in the same area. Uh Even if what they are, everything that they're saying is accurate, how is that the problem of Border Patrol? You're told don't cross.

You're a grown adult, you can see it's the Rio, it's deep, there's a current at the particular place where they're crossing. You're gonna take your kids across that, and that's somehow the fault of Border Patrol. You're a heinous mother You're a heinous father for allowing your kids to do that. You're a moron if you're crossing that. It goes against every instinct of self-preservation.

And I love this, is how the left says it. They go, it's almost as if encouraging people to cross illegally in areas. Not set up for crossing is dangerous. Pushing that dangerous crossing is bad. You need to stop it.

Like what? Don't cross, illegally. How about just don't do that? Don't cross illegally. Don't risk the lives of your family and then blame Border Patrol.

They shouldn't be crossing. This is just more of Democrats using two dead kids and a dead woman as pawns in their open borders scheme. That's all this says. You can have DOJ and DHS issue as many memorandums as possible. And you know, the thing is, too, CBS pushed this out.

They're like, oh, Texas physically barred border patrol. But it wasn't true. They actually, I looked at this, CBS. Actually, I had to update this with a correction. Let me pull this up.

Because they had they had oh three migrants who drowned in your area area where Texas is denied federal border denied entry to federal border patrol. They're using this to say oh they wouldn't allow border patrol to enter Shelby Park, the feds to enter Shelby Park, so they just let these people drown. this let him drown. They had to actually change it. They go, quote, This story and headline were updated to reflect information shared by federal officials with SCODIS on January 15th.

The Justice Department said that the three migrant drownings had already occurred. When Border Patrol requested access to Shelby Park to help others.

So, and it was on the Mexican side, which they still didn't even include in their original reporting.

So it didn't happen. They just made it up as a way to try to attack the fact that the state took over control of that area and shut it down. I mean, you know how we get mad at, and I'm going to compare it because the propaganda mechanism is the same. If you want to take it further than that, be my moronic guest. for the drive-bys.

But You know how you would have media quoting, oh, it's the Gazan Health Ministry. Yeah, you're quoting Hamas. It's like quoting, it is absolutely the height of your responsibility for any kind of media outlet to sit here and just take verbatim as gospel truth without double-checking the word of this administration. I mean, nobody even checked anything. No one questioned a damn thing.

They didn't even ask Border Patrol. It came out later. They still their tweet is still up. January 14. That's it.

I mean, it is wild. And they ended up saying, oh, well, no, it actually, and the Justice Department was forced. They said, no, no, no, it was. It was already after, and it really was on the Mexican side, and then the Border Patrol, you know, w when the Federal when the Feds asked You know, if you didn't have the federal government. Violating the law?

With everything at the border, then maybe this wouldn't be an issue. Maybe. It's kind of crazy. If they were actually enforcing you know, proper actual uh immigration law. Then maybe.

Maybe this wouldn't be such a Such a big deal. Maybe it wouldn't be such an issue. You wouldn't have so many people trying to Enter illegally. I mean, it's it's it's stunning. And they have been running this, like I'm still looking.

I'm still looking at all of my uh I'm looking at s I mean, there's so many headlines on this, it's crazy. It is crazy. And CBS still has their tweet up. still has their tweet up. And Not really.

Nobody nobody's corrected anything on social media. Huh.

Well, there you go.

Something else. Where do you go from there?

Now This is going to get that they're going to just amp this more as we get closer. to November. And immigration is an important issue for, well, border state voters particularly. It ended up being a top issue in Iowa, and I thought that was interesting because the Republican Party, I mean, you did have the previous administration that was pushing amnesty, going to give amnesty to 1.8 million people in 2018. That was part of Bob Goodlott's bill.

That's a true thing. Other House Republicans ended up defeating it. But it was something that had been championed by the administration at the time. In exchange for giving 1.8 million people amnesty, we'll get a little funding for the border wall. And that there were some people that thought that was a bad deal.

It was actually part of Paul Ryan's original plan. It was actually a Paul Ryan and Misty Bill. Rubio liked it. Rubio supported it.

So I that's why I'm like, it's so weird to me that that doesn't come up anymore if immigration's a top issue. I just feel like there's a disconnect and I also feel like uh conservative media is just as bad. Is legacy press. I don't know. It is.

So uh in addition to this, I wanted to bring this up as well because this I just saw this.

So a a New York appellate court denied a Republican motion to block a new block new votes by mail law. That's another big defeat for Republicans. It was Elise Stefanik against Kathy Hochle. And Ended up lose uh it's lost.

So there we go. What is the Republican plan for this? I'm curious. Is there a Republican Plan. To counter this stuff.

I don't see anything so far. Hell, I'd be happy even for that as an issue by itself. I don't see anything so far. That is going to be major though, and we've got to get a handle on it. As I was saying earlier, we can't just have This mush of an idea of what people think the RNC is standing for, the Republican Party is standing for.

We're losing cases about new male voting in New York. We're losing those cases. There's no plan from this. There's no nothing. And this afternoon.

They have their own issues. This is one of the things we're going to have to start focusing on in the days to come: the issues of the party being actually broke. How are they going to do it when they're broke? State parties, I'm looking at some of the notes on this. Republican state parties are Uh well, they're they're not doing well.

In fact, everything has fallen off a cliff in terms of. Funding at Politico, state GOP is running out of money, Republican parties are in bad shape, multiple state Republican parties are going broke, and that's from Newsweek. from a friendly. That is right in that. Goodness.

And it's true. This is a problem. There's a lot of problems that the RNC has to deal with right now. I agree with you. Where's the leadership?

I'm right there. The Newsweek piece says in Arizona and Michigan You have to win the majority of voters to get back in the White House there. Because remember, I was telling you: some states, it's winner-take-all, some it's not. Several state Republican parties, though, they're going bankrupt. They can't raise funds.

They're weakened by infighting. Arizona and Michigan, two examples. And Arizona, the state GOP, guess how much money the state GOP has in the end of the bank? How much they ended the year with? You're gonna die.

$14,000. What? Thousand? Fourteen thousand. Is there some mirror?

July 23rd, the state party in Michigan only had 93,000. In a recent draft report, that was shared internally said that they were quote on the brink of bankruptcy. This Spells NIGHMARE FOR November. Nightmare. And these are battle.

ground states. You have competitive seats. on the line. in Arizona. And in Minnesota, The Republican Party is struggling financially.

A filing revealing Oh my gosh I don't even want to read that. $53.81 in the bank. $335,000 plus in debt. That's the latest stuff you see. report that they got a file.

Colorado GOP. is facing actual eviction from its office because it can't pay rent. A lot of this is the responsibility of certain candidates. I think there are just some bad candidates out there who have no business. playing musical chairs with elected seats to run for office.

Can I be honest? I know Lauren Boebert. I've said all this stuff. I've known her. I've known her for a while.

I've done a fundraiser for her. I know the people who started her campaign and fundraised for her. She's leaving her district to run in a friendlier district because the guy, the Democrat, who's got his own personal baggage of affairs and sexual impropriety and all this other stuff in that district. it pales in comparison to the drama that's around her, and she doesn't help it by minimizing her actions so as to not feed the bad press reports about it.

So instead of curtailing the behavior and riding the ship, she's jumping over to a friendlier district. Where they're going to have to try to rebuild her name in the district, and she's going to have to rely on Republican money to do it. And they're broke. It's this kind of recklessness that. that bankrupts state parties.

Massachusetts. Republican Party. 400,000 in debt to vendors. They had less than 70,000 in the bank. I mean, it is wild.

Nobody the party is not raising money. Not raising money. And I think a lot of it They said that according to this, the financial ch financial challenges Are due in part to yours of you've we've lost to Democrats, we've been losing to Democrats since 2016. And a lot of people, when they hear that the election is rigged and stolen, they don't want to give any money. Michigan State GOP is a nightmare.

They removed their chair. She is now the party's leading 2024 candidate. It's a muss. It is an absolute mus. This combined with the stuff that we're seeing with independent and national.

Surveys If you believe that the polls going into Iowa were correct, then these same surveys are forecasting. A bomb for November. We have to talk about it. Do you want to win? Because I want to win.

Like I said, I'll steamroll your granny. I'll steamroll her over. I want to win in 2024. I'm giving you very sober an analysis with the hopes of it being corrected. But a lot of times, when that stuff is offered, people take it as an insult.

And they interpret it as you are attacking them by saying these very sobering facts. And then it's nothing ever is done over it because it's viewed as an attack instead of just a truth that needs to be, you need to make it not true anymore, you need to correct it. That's the situation we're in right now with the right. We gotta move. We got more stuff on the way.

It's his life mission to make bad decisions. It's time for Florida Man.

Okay guys, I don't even know what to do with this one. I think I'm just gonna say it. Um So A Florida woman submitted a urine sample for drug court. But it wasn't hers. Oh, it gets worse.

It wasn't human. It was a dog's. No.

Oh my gosh, Hunter Biden's like, how'd you do that? Clearwater, Florida. A Florida woman told the police that she plotted to hand over dog urine instead of her own in an attempt to pass a court-ordered drug screening. 42-year-old Jessica Beatty. Was required to undergo random drug tests.

I'm like, I'm sorry. My head's full of sausages jokes. She was required to undergo random drug testing in compliance with her release for drugs. And as long as she underwent random drug testing, they said, okay, well, then you can you can go.

So she had an appointment to submit a urine sample at the county's misdemeanor probation unit. And when she took the test, they it showed up to be fraudulent. And they confronted her. And then she finally said that she collected urine from her aunt's dog. How do you do that?

I don't want to know. I don't literally want to know. Yeah. How Yeah. I don't know.

I have two other headlines here that are heinous, and I'm not gonna read them. Let's see. They're so bad. Then a woman was seen riding an e-scooter literally on a highway. Florida woman, Florida, it's a woman driver, don't you know?

She was literally on a Miami highway riding an electric scooter. And a related headline: two women were struck by a vehicle after riding an e-scooter, literally in the middle of the street.

So, like, maybe don't do that. with his third hour on the way. I've been talking to a lot of voters here and I keep hearing over and over and over again they wanted to see her prove that she has a chance tonight in Iowa. That was a second place win. There were some that said if she comes in a close slur, okay.

But here's the thing, voters in this state, Republican voters tell me they want another option and they see Nikki Haley as the best shot at another option. But it's not just Republican voters. It's Democratic voters as well who say they don't entirely like Biden and they're looking for someone else as well.

Well see this goes into everything that I saw last night. From entrance and a lot of these other surveys, she was pulling from Democrats. She's not consolidating a not Trump. Republican vote that doesn't think he's conservative enough. She's like getting Democrats in.

I mean, you all remember, and someone else brought this up to, actually, I think it was Lorraine who mentioned this, Operation Chaos, because she was like, well, you remember that was a real thing. Could Democrats be doing something similar? Actually, you know, going into what I think is a third option that's very depressing is if, you know, you got Trump that gets mired down in the legal stuff, DeSantis drags out and he ends up fizzing out, and then you have an open path for Haley. That would fit right into this. I'm just saying, little Occam's razor here.

Seems, you know.

Sometimes the simplest explanation is the truthful one. Welcome back to the show. Dana Lash here, top of this third hour. We've been going over this, a deep dive like I've never done on the show before, looking into the numbers, looking into seeing some things that are uncomfortable for everybody, no matter your candidate. Because we got to.

Yeah, I mean, twenty twenty four is the last uh exit off the highway.

So I think it's incredibly important. But I think this is also, that's something that people are not looking at. The situation with who Hagley's pulling from. She has the exact opposite problem that Trump has. Trump can win hardcore voters.

but he suffers with broader appeal nationally. With independence With, you know, like more big tent. It's not, he, I mean, the win was Razor in 2016. Get mad, but it was. You have to recognize this stuff.

This is Sunzi 101. Basic. Facts and the lay of the land in order to either expand margins of victory or correct errors. We all agree on this, right? I'm not going to lie to you and tell you that something is kittens in sunshine when it's not because I'm desperate to kiss ass for clicks.

We're not doing that. I want to win. I will steamroll over your grandmother to win in 2024. I don't care. So I'm not joking.

At first I was like, maybe I'm joking. I'm not. Literally well.

So In this Haley's problem is that she can't attract the base. The base doesn't want her. She has to pull. From brand new independents, from Democrats. And remember, in Iowa, you can register the same day, and then you can go in and you can cast your vote.

It's a very different process. And again, just to remind people, it's not a winner-take-all, it is delegates are awarded proportionally. And this is something that a lot of people don't get. And I'm not saying this to be mean. If you don't have a caucus, that's not how you choose your candidate, then you have never gone through the process.

You don't know. And so that's, but it's important to touch on this. And In this too, and I'm looking at some of the numbers on this. The Where she was pulling from. Urban areas, collegiates, all of that kind of goes in line with this.

So he suffers broader appeals, she suffers with the bass. And it's not because people think They well, because she pulls Democrats, it's not because she's not pulling from the non-Trump. Republicans who think he's not conservative enough. Right.

Now, a quick note about the proportionality. I also, there's two things that I'm wondering about here, and I don't know which is true. Actually three things. Maybe four. Let's hit four points.

Let's start with the fourth one. I feel like they're they're baby handing Haley. I want you to watch how media covers her. Especially some legacy press and cable conservative news. I just want you to kind of keep an eye out and then watch what websites champion her and which ones don't.

The second thing. And looking at this. This She's never said anything about Trump's legal problems. And believe me, we get the audio from everything. We have three people literally on the show that pull audio.

Juan and Kane and Steve. Juan gets the video element, Kane and Steve pull audio. They see literally everything. They have access to an actual repository that media dumps all video in that you have to even pay to access, and everybody who works in broadcasting has it. We get everything.

I think that's on purpose. Because I think that she wants that to overwhelm him. She wants DeSantis to fizzle out and then she wants to be able to have a straight shot. I mean, it's Bush and a dress.

So just know that. That's the other option. And I feel like that's kind of goes along with our fourth point, the the first point in that. no one's really kinda talking about that or or questioning that. The second thing is that the media is, regardless of whether you like him or not, downplaying DeSantis so bad it's ridiculous.

I get it that cable news doesn't like him. Conservative cable news doesn't like him. There's a couple of and I don't know whether or not it's because Paul Ryan sits on the board or not. And Paul Ryan wanted an amnesty bill in 2018 that he got the former president to support. And the House Freedom Caucus went against it, and there was a fight.

I don't know if it stems from that. I don't know. I'm just saying. Clearly. There's something going on.

And I've never said that before about conservative press, but it seems like, although I did kind of say it in 2020 or not, or 2016, I did kind of say it then. It's just odd to me. Maybe that's just the way things are. It was weird in twenty twenty two with Arizona. Maybe it's just the way things are.

I don't know. But I do feel as though Especially Democrats and legacy press. They don't want DeSantis to be successful because he's very competitive against Biden when they do a matchup nationally, the last surveys they've done. And then the last point, which I think is kind of a two-parter. And I'm trying to figure out how this is because I the media is taking two paths here.

They're taking the path that, oh my gosh, he's done. He's the worst thing ever. Ha ha. We don't care if he's the nominee and he's embroiled in all this legal stuff. And then I see them going, It's the most historic landslide ever.

Without putting it into context. And you might say, well, you know, that seems like, you know, inconsequential. It's not if you want to win. Here's why I say that. You have 40 delegates in Iowa that are up for grabs.

He only took half of them. He's the incumbent. You had only 20% of registered Republicans that turned out to vote. That's 115,000 people that turned out to vote. 20%.

of registered Republicans and he only took half of 20%. I just don't want you. If he ends up being the nominee in November. I don't want you to think that it's fait accompli and that For apathy to set in and think it's a done deal, and that you don't have to do the work because the media is blowing him up. Do you know what I'm saying?

Like, oh, look, it's a landslide. It's already in the bad. Don't worry about it. Stay home. I feel like media is testing two strategies with you.

to see which one works with him. The one where he's so besieged he doesn't have a shot in hell, or the one where they're blowing him up. And oh, you don't even have to worry about it. It's in the bag. Because remember, delegates receive equal to their share of the statewide vote.

28%, and Cruz got 28% in 2016. That netted him eight delegates. Trump had, what, seven Delegates, he got 24%, Rubio got 23%, they each got 7% in 2016. He got 20 this time, December just got eight, Haley got seven.

So 20% of the vote of 115,000, and he got half of that, only 20 delegates for an incumbent. I think that people should very much temper exactly how much they're blowing this up. for the express purpose that it absolutely will lull people into apathy. I'm warning you. Again, I'll steamroll your grandmother to win in 24.

So I just feel like the press is sort of setting people up and testing their field, testing a couple of different narratives. And maybe it's because I overthink everything, and I literally am suspicious of everything and everyone. Maybe I'm overthinking it. Maybe it's because I have a lot of experience in this area. And I just I've seen this before.

in different ways. And I feel like they're kind of test they're testing this out. It's just, I don't know. It's weird. I also think too.

That that either way that does kind of I think it kind of helps I I think it's sort of in some ways helped Haley. Because the, I and really ultimately going into this also. They've really got to focus on. Uh if DeSantis DeSantis has to get fifty times more aggressive and he's got to take Haley out. Politically speaking.

He's got to destroy her. And some of his more cautious campaign people need to step aside a little bit. You got brawlers on your roster. You need to let them do what they do. You need to let them do what they do best.

and get out of their way. That's how it works because now it's time to bust it up. But I will say, it is survival. This is a marathon. It's not a one and done.

You have other states that are going to allocate delegates proportionally. You got to get to 1,215. We're a long way off. A lot can happen. And if you don't think a lot can happen, just remember: if Trump didn't win in 2016, Iowa.

Joe Biden was in fourth place. We don't have President Booty Juice. We don't have President Huckabee and we don't have a President Cruz.

So keep that in mind. Lots of things can change.

Alright, now that being said. Can you play me the Karine Johnson audio, please?

So the White House did. A virtual what is that they had a virtual press thing? Why was it virtual? Uh 'cause I guess they're on the plane or they're traveling or something, so it's they do this. you know, they travel with press you know, gaggle.

And this is what they do.

So it becomes a virtual one. Yeah. Okay. Well, this is how this is weird. This is how it started.

Listen to this. I would now like to formally begin today's call and introduce Corrine Johnson, the White House Press Secretary. Please go ahead. My name is Corine Jean-Pierre, but thank you so much for the intro. Who introduced her as Corrine Johnson?

Who is it that did that? It's somebody who set up, I guess, that virtual, you know, the Biden administration. It would have had to have been. who introduced her as Corrine Johnson. Yeah, they're not letting somebody else do anything like that.

Okay. It's kind of weird, but all right. That's just wild. All right.

Oh man, I tell you what, that's Yeah. She's, um, well, you know, maybe it's like payback for her saying all the words wrong. How did she say tyrant? Tyranny. Yeah.

Tyranny. That hurt me. Yeah. Yeah, okay. Nordstrom pipeline.

Yeah, okay. I mean, there's a lot. All right, so coming up, we got to talk about the immigration fight too, because we've got border deals being made in the Senate. And there was a proposal that was leaked yesterday. I talked a little bit about it earlier because it was a, and isn't this the one that Langford's a part of?

It literally is worse than what we have now. And now, all of the news you would probably miss, it's time for Dana's Quick Five.

Everything's freezing in Portland. A pipe froze and at the largest sewage pump station. And yeah, it sent. Yeah, you can imagine how that went. in Portland.

Isn't it just like having like, you know, one of the What was it? The writers out in the streets. It's just basically like that in your house, right? I don't know. It's just, it's all, ugh.

It sent sewage into a dozen homes. That's so nasty. Can you imagine? It's freezing outside. You're having to deal with that.

That's so bad. Oh. I feel bad for those people. Oh my gosh.

Okay, so a couple of other things. Uh mm-mm. This is A historic Portland fish shack washed away. I don't care about the fish shack. Fish shack washed away at Willard Beach.

It's a fish shack. The second most venomous snake in the world was found in a toddler's clothes drawer.

Now guess what country this is? You guessed. Which one is it, Kane? It's Australia. It's Australia, you're right.

An Australian snake hunter discovered the second most venomous snake in the world in a toddler's underwear drawer. Mark Pelley, based in Melbourne, was asked to remove a five-foot Eastern brown snake from a three-year-old's bedroom. He says mum went to get some clothes for her son and found a large five-foot brown snake instead. That's like not a euphemism for anything, it's literally a snake. Uh they That's terrifying.

Like Australia is full of things that will murder you. The spiders will kill you. The bees will kill you. The snakes will kill you. Everybody lives on the coast because the rest of the stuff in the middle will murder you.

The desert and the heat, and the animals there. The kangaroos will punch you in the head and kill you. Oh my gosh, that's terrifying. It is terrifying.

Alright, so let's go. That uh Terrifying. Let's see. This is oh. A reward is being offered.

for a missing donkey. His name is not Dominic. Dominic the donkey, nobody knows that song. Jackie the Donkey went missing late last week. A reward is being offered.

Bethlehem, Connecticut. A drone was deployed. She was not seen wandering. They're offering $3,000 for information leading to the return of Jackie the Donkey. They're saying, please bring her home.

And if you have herds, check your herds to see if she just joined them. I mean, she looks like a nice little donkey, so I don't know. I mean, Just out, you know, living her best life. I hope she's okay. It's like cold outside there right now.

I mean, she needs to get some shelter.

Now I'm very worried about this donkey. And boom. Uh let's see this uh Uh I saw that. Let's see. Um, do this one.

A West Virginia man found a 253-year-old fort hidden inside of his house. If I could be so lucky. Yeah, it was like legit hidden in the basement of his house. Pretty cool. All right.

We have a lot more on the way. Stick with us. Whether you're a policy wonk, a news junkie, or simply someone hungry for insightful discourse, the Dana Show Podcast has your back. Follow Dana on Apple, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts. You know, it's interesting for the call, Britt.

Obviously, it happens to be a lot of people. We're going to go ahead and interrupt this number. We're going to go ahead and call it. We're going to go ahead and call this audio right now. That's Brett Baer.

saying uh that he's making the go we're gonna call early call his call on the uh carcasses. Kane, welcome back. The program dating last year at the bottom of this. Probably should we hear the rest of what Brett had to say? No, I mean, we got the raw data.

We can make the call. You don't want to see it through to the end there? No, we can make the call. Feel confident in that. Make the call right there.

They don't need to hear it. Just making the call.

So Interesting. Did you guys hear about the uh Hold up. I wanted to touch on this before we move to the McConnell. Amnesty 2018 Part D plan. The pro-Hamas protesters swarming in New York City cancer hospital.

Nothing persuades people more. Then yelling for terrorists, terrorists. At sick kids in a cancer hospital. I mean, you know, that's really going to persuade people. I don't know if you guys see.

They've been ongoing. They've been doing this. They've had literally like kids standing in the window. This it's the Sloane Cuttering. And the pro-Hamas butt kissers group.

Uh I just don't even want to say their names because I can't say anything nice in association with it. They were trying to explain their rhetoric because they were screaming That they were screaming at these people, at these patients. They had uh thousands that marched. during uh for uh yesterday was there Gaza MLK Day march for health care at the hell kind of Cluster blank as that. It's gonna throw all the things in here.

And they pat they went to the the Memorial Sloan Katerine Cancer Center. And they shouted shame. Like shame because they had cancer? Like what? That's the pro-Hamocephalators.

The uh yeah. Terrorists, you're terrorist apologists, it's all terrorists. Uh they uh and this is after you know anti-Semitism attacks, anti-Semitic attacks in the United States have spiked 360%. since Hamas's terrorist attack.

So they literally walked past the cancer center screaming shame at the kids in the window getting cancer treatment. What is wrong with these people? Oh my gosh, you can tell that Hamas has a backwards culture because all their supporters sound like they're the product of incest. I mean, for real. Like, where.

Does this come from? I mean, it's I I mean, is it do they just want attention? Because it doesn't sound like... they're trying to persuade anyone.

So when they were asked Why did you literally target a kid? I mean, maybe they thought there was a Hamas headquarters there too. Like there's one in the Gaza one. I don't know. But they said no, it's because the hospital accepted a donation from a billionaire Zionist.

That was their excuse. Um What? What? I don't know, man. I don't even understand.

This is so stupid. This is so dumb.

So they yeah, that's like uh That's and there are like literally people in the windows that are receiving treatment looking down on them. Like, what is in the what's happening here? Why are you doing this?

So they said that it was Zionist Ken Griffin. And This is after he threatened Pro-Hamas student activists at Harvard with revoked job offers. Yeah, because they're terrorist buck hissers. Where? Cry harder terrorist, I just have zero sympathy, courtesy, kindness.

tolerance for this nonsense. I don't want a ceasefire. I want more fire. I want hellfire and brimstone. I don't want ceasefire.

I I mean, that's just, it's sickening. There's no excuse for that. There's no excuse for it. No, heaven forbid they won't tell Hamas, the government that they all voted for, ceasefire. No, no, no.

You can't defend yourself. How dare you?

Well, if you didn't want the fight, you shouldn't have picked it. Not everybody else's fault. These are the rules of war. This is why people say war is hell. Don't pick the fight.

Pretty simple. Mitch McConnell Oh boy Here we go.

Now, there was a draft of a Senate border deal. This is what I was telling you about with the Langford thing. It's way worse than what we have now. It is so much worse than what we have now. And so McConnell's all over it, of course.

The draft border deal rewards illegal immigration. It's like the 2018 Paul Ryan plan. that the previous administration got in trouble for endorsing. That's a true thing, go look it up. It's Bob Goodlight's plan.

There's literally in this bill, and I was looking at a draft of it, which is. It's up online. You can read it. Thomas LOC. But the border deal basically increases green yards by green green yards I wish green cards by 50,000 a year you get work permits for eight for kids offspring of H1 H1B Uh holders.

There are immediate work permits issued. To every single illegal alien that's released from custody, work permits are immediately issued.

So if you cross over illegally, you're detained processed. Oh, here's make sure you go to immigration court four years in the future, then you get an immediate work permit with that. There are lawyers that are taxpayer funded provided to certain illegal entrants. The authority that law enforcement has to expel illegal aliens is limited. If the encounters exceed 5,000 a day over a week period.

And then the parole for people who enter without authorization at ports of entry is restricted. It's literally way worse than anything we have now. And that's those are so those are the details.

Now, what do Republicans get for just totally giving everything away? Do you think that they get a wall? Do they get a tax on remittances? Do they get any of this? No.

Democrats would allow a limited number of illegal aliens. You can take you can send them back to Mexico, but only that's what I got down to it, only if those accounts see exceed 5,000 per day for a full week.

So it's limited. Under Obama-Biden, they said that if encounters are a thousand a day, then it's a crisis. And they would consider it as such? But now they're saying, oh no, now it has to be 5,000 per day for a full week. For a full week, 35,000.

In order for us to consider. That's crazy. That is crazy. The parole orders, though, when I said that they're going to issue parole for if you're recog if you're going through a recognized port of entry, that's going to be issued by the White House and not Congress. That's the wildest thing.

So it actually doesn't change anything except makes things worse. Um How is that any kind of deal? A deal, even calling it a deal, would suggest. That That we got something. And we're not getting anything.

This is not anything that we're not getting anything from this. Uh yeah. This is bad. All right, so that's I don't know why they, but that's what they're going to do. This is not going to go well.

You don't need Amnesty 2018 Part 2. You don't need it. And this is on top of the Ukraine funding stuff and all of that, that they're Arguing over. There's nothing about taxing remittances. There's nothing about catch and release.

There's nothing in here about. Any kind of force multiplier at the border, like a wall or anything else. There's nothing in here even about protecting the sovereignty of states to act, particularly when the influx is causing local disruptions and increasing lawlessness. There's nothing in here for that. You're you know what you're gonna do is you're gonna attract even more.

people to come in inter illegally. I mean, I can't even imagine that because of everything now. We had 290,000 plus just last month alone. But this is what they're flirting with. I mean, I I've Uh that's that's Amazing to me.

Back in 2018, they tried this again. It was a proposal. They were trying to provide a pathway to citizenship for 1.8 million people. Illegal aliens, one point eight. And the exchange that they were supposed to get on that was some restrictions on illegal entry and they were going to get a couple billion in border security.

You know, like a drop in the bucket of what could be done. And it was promoted. promoted by the administration at the time. There was that plan and then there was a more conservative plan and then they it ended up all falling apart when they went to vote on it. And This i I it's just a mess.

It is an absolute mess.

So this is They kept saying that they were going to try to overhaul the system in 2018. They didn't. They just this was just amnesty.

Now they keep saying, oh, we're on the pathway to overhaul. This just makes it worse. Yeah, and they're under the 2018 plan that they tried to push. The uh Let's see, you could enter the country illegally. And uh you were fine.

Your legal status, though if you'd committed more crimes beyond entering illegally, then it could be revoked due to criminal behavior or certain but that's already the law. That's already the way it is now. Why do you need it? It's so goofy. It was so goofy.

So This is it's like every few years they try to do something real stupid like this. And it's always in an election year. In 2018, it was right before midterms, and that ended up really hurting Republicans. And now it's right before general. Why are you doing this?

I don't imagine that this would go anywhere in the House because it would require taxpayer funds for portions of what's being proposed here.

So you do have to. The fact that we're this is how close it is in the Senate. Let me tell you something. If the surveys are to be believed, if you think Iowa's surveys were correct, then you've got to believe that the national surveys are correct as well. We are on track to lose the House.

Which gets into another concerning point. I'm going to be writing about this later on. The New Mexico governor has decided, has everybody had their eyes on the caucuses yesterday? Grisham? she decided to go after Second Amendment again.

This was wild. She decided to go after Uh in an editorial She, uh, governor abandoned guns, Grisham. She says we have to ban assault weapons in New Mexico is what she said. She wrote this editorial in the Albuquerque Journal. And She cites bad figures.

I mean, it's the same kind of moms demand stuff that you would expect her to do. And then she talks about crime in New Mexico and students, you know, et cetera, et cetera. One of the things that I noticed that she doesn't mention, and I talked about this at the time when she. Went out, and this was, I think, over the summer when she went out and was. pushing this.

She was trying to She was trying to push, like I said, she was trying to push a gun control program too in the wake of a tragedy. She had hand picked toadies running Albuquerque. Right.

Handpicked toadies, running Albuquerque. And instead of Actually, spending taxpayer dollars on law enforcement, reducing crime. Things of this nature. Instead of doing any of that, what she actually did was use that, her toties, with her sanction, use that as a major donation to Planned Parenthood. You guys remember all this stuff.

I mean, the DA that she had that ended up going and working with Albuquerque. Ended up like just allowing, you know, all of these, like the restorative justice. Reducing uh penalties. She mentions this uh She referenced the case. of the 13 year old that killed an 11 year old.

But she didn't mention that there was remember how she was trying to blame all law abiding gun owners at the time, even though nobody who has a permit was behind the death of 11-year-old. And then they have a five-year-old was killed by it was killed by a group of teenagers in illegal possession of a firearm who committed a drive-by. The thirteen-year-old was killed by another teen. And this is all because their crime rate in Albuquerque steadily rose for the past several years. Her Soros-backed DA, who was her handpicked toady, Raul Torres, now the AG in New Mexico, this dude helped contribute to the problem.

He was busy dismissing cases right and left. And then the governor's like, wow, I'm so shocked. Crime is on the rise. I mean, the Albuquerque police chief said that the recent spike in crime that they've been dealing with was because of management order. To reduce the population in the jail by moving, expediting cases through the courts and wrist-slapping people.

That was their police chief. Appointed by a Democrat who was actually being honest about it. I mean, they have a judicial rot problem, which then contributes to a murder problem and a crime problem in their city. And she thinks, once again, that the way to go about it is. to punish law abiding gun owners.

And then she goes after guns that actually weren't even involved in the two if you could classify one well, in the in the last two uh more notable uh illegally possessed uh firearm involved in a uh shooting Scenarios And then she wanted to suspend the Constitution in her state. You remember that.

So we got this happening. And then they're also flirting with the stuff in Washington. A friend of mine has a a great piece about how Washington Democrats are trying to now ban legal purchase and carry at bus stops and transit centers, bus stops aren't exactly the safest places. And don't forget, they always have this legislation to go ready in a House subcommittee at the federal level. You lose the house, and all of this stuff that you see in New Mexico, and in Washington, and all of these other states going state by state is something that they are going to introduce nationally.

Bank on it. Follow Dana on Apple, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts, because knowledge is your ultimate superpower. And make sure you sign up for the newsletter over at Substack Chapter and Verse. All good stuff. And there's uh sent out my prep.

We covered the uh live coverage of the uh Iowa caucuses last night, explaining stuff as we went, all kinds of good stuff. And I'll do that as well for a New Hampshire and South Carolina. I was uh Looking at a couple of things here. It it's amazing to me the pro-Hamas protesters. Who were out there screaming outside of that hospital?

They're trying to judge, they're spending all day today. I think they realize how bad of a look it was finally, maybe. And they've been trying to rationalize it all day on X. I don't think it's going to work. I don't think it's going to work.

All right, we'll have more on that tomorrow. Today in Stupidity King. Oh, it's our. Press Secretary Karine Johnson.

Sorry, that was from an earlier joke. Do you think Biden is leading and putting American people first and bringing people together? Is that what you think? Listen to this. In the meantime, the president's going to continue to lead with, obviously, with leadership and putting American people first.

and bring uh people together. Really? So it's going to lead with leadership. Um Not leadership. Yeah, I don't understand that.

Yeah, there you go. All right, folks, that does it for us today. Make sure you go find us on Facebook, YouTube, like and subscribe. The newsletter over at Substack, Chapter Inverse, have a great night. Back with you tomorrow.
